Keep Fresh Water Flowing  

£5 per month

Clean, safe water is precious everywhere and no more so than southern Malawi, which has no rain from May to November in most years.  You can help create more access to water for the wildlife inside, and the villagers around the reserve.

Keeping the water flowing is a constant task and requires someone to check each borehole everyday.  If this doesn’t happen, the breaking of a small part costing a few pence can leave hundreds of people without any water.

Your money will go towards the upkeep of 3 new boreholes and 2 existing boreholes at Mwabvi Wildlife Reserve.

Provide Food for the Orphan School

£4 per month

PAW supports an orphanage outside the Reserve near our base.  There are currently around 56 children at the orphanage, and £4 will be enough to feed a child.

Give English Lessons

£2.50 per month

Our team at Mwabvi includes at least 30 local men at any one time, and sometimes more.

They may have been to primary school, but secondary school is expensive and very few can speak English, the language that can open up so many opportunities for them.

For £2.50 a month, we can arrange for them to travel to Bangula to have English lessons with a local teacher, helping them to a better life and also helping the local teacher supplement a very small income.

Once they have learnt English, they can lead groups of tourists safely, or work with a volunteer, sell local crafts for their neighbours, and of course, become a game scout with further training.

A Big Gift for the Little 5

£5 per month

While big animals are fun to look at, don’t forget the small animals, which are just as special as their Big 5 counterparts.  The Little 5: buffalo weaver, elephant shrew, leopard tortoise, rhino beetle, and ant lion, need to be protected just as much as the big animals, and we have most of them at Mwabvi.

When you sponsor the Little 5, you are helping us provide a safe home for the small animals that live in Mwabvi by making sure we protect the undergrowth and shrub habitats.

You can save an area bigger than a football pitch! 

Ok, our reserve isn’t quite as flat as Wembley, but we have to work just as hard to maintain it in its pristine state.  We are constantly restocking the reserve with seedlings of trees such as acacia, mopane and baobab.  We’re checking for and removing snares left by poachers and we’re monitoring the animal and plant life in every corner of the reserve using GPS.
