Visiting Mwabvi Wildlife Reserve
Mwabvi is the hidden gem of Malawi's National Parks - visit us for a unique experience
We welcome people who come as visitors just wanting a short break, or who want a longer stay on holiday. You can stay with us at Chipembere Camp , only a few hundred metres from the Wildlife
Reserve entrance. Here we have a comfortable dormitory, or you can pitch a tent or link up a camper.
There's hot and cold water/showers. Food is provided - or cook your own. We have power and lights for three hours at night, and internet.! Oh, and a couple of lion cubs to look after.
Or you can pitch camp at Migudu Campsite a few kilometres inside the reserve. Here, we have six separate vehicle stands, all secluded and each with its own water supply. The ablution block with showers/loos etc, the reception and an amazing viewing platform, are a short(ish) walk away and we will be starting with a complete re-vamp of this site in 2011. There is also plenty of space for tents and bigger groups.
And following the Grand Opening in September 2010 , our six chalet, self- or full-catering, Njati Lodge is now open for visitors. You can stay in a family group or in a more secluded chalet, do your own cooking in our big open plan kitchen and dining area or have us cook for you. There's even a 'honeymoon' chalet. This lodge is deep inside the reserve close by the stunning Mwabvi Gorge where you are right among the animals and overlooking the river.
