Visiting Mwabvi Wildlife Reserve
Mwabvi is the hidden gem of Malawi's National Parks - visit us for a unique experience
We welcome people who come as visitors just wanting a short break, or who want a longer stay on holiday.
You can stay with us at Chipembere Camp , only a few hundred metres from the Reserve entrance. Here we have a comfortable dormitory, or you can pitch a tent or link up a camper.
There's hot and cold water/showers, food available, or cook your own. We have power and lights at night, internet and even cell phone coverage! Oh, and a lion cub (or possibly two) to look after.
Inside the Reserve you can pitch camp at Migudu Campsite , a few kilometres inside the gate. Here we have 6 standings, all self contained and secluded, with water supplies. The ablution block with showers/loos etc, the reception and an amazing viewing platform, is a short(ish) walk away and we are putting more ablutions in closer by in 2010. There is plenty of space for tents and bigger groups.
And from February 2010 our 6 chalet self catering Njati Lodge wil be open for visitors. You can stay in a family group or in a more secluded chalet, do your own cooking in our big open plan kittchen and dining area or have us cook for you. There's even a 'honeymoon' chalet. This lodge is deep inside the reserve close by the stunning Mwabvi Gorge, you are amongst the wildlife and overlooking the narrow river gorge.
