PAW in Malawi

In Malawi PAW is registered as a not for profit limited company. This organisation has a legal agreement with the Department of National Parks and Wildlife backed by the Malawi Government. It has an office just outside Lilongwe, linked to Barefoot Safaris operations centre there.

PAW carries out conservation and development work. The National Parks team are still legally responsible for anti-poaching work and controlling access, we work closely together.

Our Reserve base is at Chipembere Camp, on 5 acres of land donated by the local people just outside the Reserve entrance. Chipembere is the Chichewa name for the Black Rhino, our camp is so named because Mwabvi was the last natural habitat of the black rhino in Malawi

PAW Malawi have their own website with all of the latest conservation news – find out what’s happening at Mwabvi right now by clicking  here.
