PAW Welcomes its Newest Trustee, Pauline Davis

Pauline DavisThe PAW Trustees have invited Pauline Davis on to the Board, following her great support for and interest in our work over the past few years.

Pauline is currently the Strategic Director of Housing Investment and Renewal at Hull City Council.  Prior to this she has worked in education, health and housing.

She spent twelve years teaching English and Drama in inner city comprehensive schools in Nottingham.  She was the Head of a Creative and Performing Arts Faculty before making a career change to Health Promotion in 1993. She successfully completed a Masters in Public Health in 1995 and was appointed Health Promotion Manager at Nottingham Health Authority in 1996.  She became the Health Action Zone Director in 1998, after leading Nottingham’s bid for Health Action Zone status. 

In October 2000, Pauline was appointed as the Chief Executive of the Nottingham New Deal for Communities Programme before moving to be Managing Director of NewHeartlands Housing Market renewal Programme in Merseyside for six years until October 2009. 

Pauline spent four years as an elected member of Rushcliffe Borough Council from 1999-2003 and during that time was Chair of the Housing Scrutiny Group and a key member overseeing the Local Stock Voluntary Transfer to Rushcliffe Homes.

She is also an Honorary Member of the Faculty of Public Health, a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Housing.  She is also a member of the Guinness Northern Counties Housing Association Board and Chair of the Central Regional Committee.

Pauline has visited Mwabvi and met the people there. She is keen to support education and community development programmes having seen the difference they make for herself in the UK and Malawi.
