NCHA Virtual Tour de France
A Big Thank You from PAW!
Our friends at the Guinness NCHA Partnership, a leading national UK housing association, took part in the VIRTUAL Tour de France earlier this year to raise money for PAW.
Staff and colleagues were matched with the real teams and riders, and daily and stage leaders were rewarded handsomely with badges by the GNC@leTour Sporting Directeur Al Ramsay.
Big Al as he is now known to us all presented Project African Wilderness chief Gaynor Asquith with a cheque for £850 in a glittering ceremony held at his penthouse office in the Bower House HQ in October. The fabulously generous donation, made by GNC staff, friends and family, Markhams, Lovell Partnerships, Regenda, and arc4 has already been put to good use, resulting in the purchase of a pump which will provide water for people and animals in the Mwabvi Gorge area of the Mwabvi Wildlife Reserve.
Pictured left is the North Stars' team Captain Clare king receiving the overall team winners trophy and the individual overall winner Sue Stott receiving her award.
They have promised a re-run in 2010 by which time everyone will be competin for the King of the Mountains trophy as well!
Many of the donations came with gift aid certificates. This means that the Chancellor will give PAW a further 28p in the £ and the total amount of money available to PAW will be well in excess of £1,000.
Thank you to everyone at GNC and colleagues who took part!
